Next Meeting – April 22 – Dan Mahoney, host. Melanie Garrison, Communications Coordination for YMCA.

April 15, 2021: 16 Fellow Rotarians and 2 Guests joined via zoom, to hear Jillian Rogers, Co-Owner of Union Cellars Winery. Jillian is co-owner with her husband, Mark and their winery is located approximately 4 miles west of Lewisburg at 4760 Furnace Road.  They been married eight years and have three small boys (ages 3-6) and Jillian is currently expecting their fourth son.  She has a degree in chemistry from LaSalle. She and her husband met while in Austin, Texas where they studied and received their certifications in wine making. They relocated to Lewisburg three years ago, where Jillian’s family lives. Jillian also works as a Physicians Assistant for Evangelical Hospital. The winery is her husband’s, Mark, full time focus. Mark and his father-in-law, Ron Moser, took on the task themselves of renovating a 5,200-square-foot building last used as an auto body shop; which is now their winery. They also added a large outside patio off of the tasting room complete with a play area for kids visiting with their parents. Future plans include a venue for weddings and other celebrations.  They are open and operating under adherence to COVID guidelines and regulations. They have planted 3,000 vines, on 3 acres, and look forward to their production but currently make their wine from grapes or juice they get from other wineries. Currently offering six varieties of red and white wines for tasting and purchase. Perhaps, a future location for a Rotary visit.
