Next Meeting – May 27 – Tom Gates, host – Steve Inch, Track Announcer – Selinsgrove Speedway

May 20, 2021: 20 fellow Rotarians and 7 guests joined us at Isabella’s. Dave Lawer was host and had the pleasure of introducing each of our seniors from Selinsgrove Area High School and Sun Technical Institute who were awarded scholarships this year.  Last week we met three of our other students, who were unable to make today’s meeting; they were Alli Fritz, Olivia Merwine and Emeline Snook. Each of the following students spoke briefly on their accomplishments in high school and work in the community. Nick Young plans to attend Penn State-Harrisburg and study Civil Engineering. Zoe Tomko (Toby’s granddaughter) plans to attend Kings College and study to become a Physician Assistant. Luke Berkoski plans to attend Penn College and though not certain on his specific discipline he knows in will be involving the environment and finding ways to clean it up. Isabel Proger will attend Juniata College and study biology and aspires to be doctor/scienctist. JaSayle Rivera plans to attend Bucknell and study science and aspires to be a doctor. Brianna Presgraves plans to attend Drexel University and study digital graphics/media design. Josh Ritter plans to attend Lock Haven University and study ecology/biology. Each and every student was very involved in school activities, the community, talented in sports and music and overall extremely impressive and gave us hope for the future. Each expressed their gratitude for receiving their scholarships.

Announcements: 1) Marv Rudnitsy introduced Selinsgrove Area High School, Young American, Isabel Proger. 2) President Dan reminded us that volunteers are still needed for Mallet Madness.
