January 7, 2016: Twenty-eight Rotarians and a guest (Dottie Anderson’s guest, Carol Handlan) were introduced to Greater Susquehanna Valley United Way CEO, Joanne Troutman. On the job since July, Joanne shared information about the work of the United Way, its purpose and goals, the Community Impact Model, being concerned about community development, defining problems and working on solutions. The UW now has a social worker in three days a week to work with persons/families in need.  Donor base concerns and loss of some business campaigns has led to the UW having decreased funds to provide to partner agencies. Dottie Anderson was the host, Earl Ferster was the greeter.
